An alphabet of Jak/Seem drabbles, in canon and various AUs.
A: Annoying
"Don't touch that!" The white-haired acolyte screeched as she saw a boy of no more than four trying to grab a fragile artefact placed precariously near the edge of a shelf. Bright blue eyes left their goal to survey her, meeting crimson orbs, and the green-haired prince broke into a wide, innocent grin. Seem ground her teeth and silently counted to ten, eyed closed, and then half-opened one red pool.
"You." She declared. "Will be very annoying when you're older."
As young Mar toddled over and reached up to hold the hand of this strange girl, Seem had no idea how right she was.

B: Boring
"Jak, this's borin'."
The young hero sighed in answer to his companion's comment. He was about to suggest that Daxter go and find something else to do when the ottsel continued.
"I mean, it's a freakin' library! Smells like it's full o' fossils or somethin'. I mean, sheesh, d'you think those monks have ever heard of air freshener?"
Jak blocked out Daxter's continuing lamentation as he spotted a white-skinned monk walking amongst the shelves, pale fingers dancing over the spines of various books before carefully sliding one out and opening it. The ottsel realised his friend was no longer listening and sighed.
"'Course, only reason we're here is 'cause o' old paint face."

A/N: This takes place in the almost-canon where Seem was killed by Errol in the Temple.
C: Close
Every muscle in Jak's body screamed in protest as he heaved himself further up the side of the Dark building. He wondered if it would ever be over, if he would ever truly defeat Erol. For a moment he believed he couldn't do it. He would die, and everything would be in vain. He was so close, but he almost gave up.
Then an image flashed at the fore of his mind. Seem, bleeding, dying, because of that monster. Seem, using her last freaking breath to help him rather than herself.
"Damn it, Erol!" The Wastelander growled. Flashes of Dark Eco sparking around him. "You're going to pay…"
He was close. And he'd never give up.

D: Deceit
Jak stifled a chuckle as Seem looked around the sandy shore that Spargus was constructed next to, her eyes narrowed in confusion.
"Mar, I fail to see what you brought me here for…" The monk's voice betrayed her slight annoyance at the situation. Jak tried and failed to hide his smirk. "Huh, imagine that. The artefact must've gotten washed away or something." He glanced around and feigned surprise. "Hey, it’s sunset. Don't you think it's, er, too late to, y'know, be going back to the Temple."
The Wastelander got the feeling Seem could see his thoughts as she raise done white eyebrow in apparent amusement.
"If you wished for me to visit Spargus, Mar, you didn't need to resort to deceit. Asking is perfectly fine."

E: Eunuch
"Y'know," Daxter commented as, once again, he had been dragged along by his friend on a crazy plot involving a certain monk, "If ya wanted to date her, she'd prob'ly force ya to become an eunuch or somethin'."
The ottsel smirked as his friend started and gaped at him
"Holy…" Jak glanced over his shoulder at Seem and shuddered slightly, considering the possibility. She was a monk… and she was definitely capable of entertaining the idea. Or was she? The Wastelander wasn't entirely sure he wanted to find out if Seem would threaten him with the same fate as almost every other female he'd encountered since journeying into the future.
But he still liked her.

A/N: I suppose this could take place in A Secret Worth Keeping, but it wasn't written especially for that 'verse.
F: Free
It was dawn in Spargus, the sun edging lazily into the sky, and already the air was becoming hotter and thicker. Seem sighed and made to stand, regretfully lifting Jak's arm from its place around her shoulders as the hero gave a small snore, pulling a smile from the monk.
This was forbidden. She was light, he was dark. After all Jak had done for Spargus – for the world – some still viewed him as dark, dangerous and animalistic. And those that were opposed to the hero had plenty of ways of making themselves heard. Already some were questioning Seem's ability to lead the Order with her sympathies for Jak.
But they couldn't take this from her. Every night, she was free to love.

A/N: Watch out for a companion drabble to this one in the future.
G: Going
"So." Seem busied herself stacking books to avoid looking the hero in the eyes. "You're leaving." "Um..." Jak's voice was full of some unspoken emotion. "Look, Seem-" "I know you have duties in Haven." The white-haired monk interrupted, speaking quickly. "I suppose the Baroness is being obstinate about it." "Seem-" "Sig will be a good king for Spargus." Seem ignored Jak's attempts to speak and carried on, feeling the sarcasm that had been ever-present when she first met Jak rise again. She had to keep herself together. "Don't feel you have to stay away." "Seem." Jak reached out and laid a hand on the young monk's shoulder. "Please. I'm sorry." "You should go." Seem didn't shrug the hand off, but neither did she yield to it. "You wouldn't want to miss the flight."
She couldn't admit she had already missed him.

A/N: I don't really like this one >>
H: Heart
Seem stared blankly at the bottom corner of the parchment she'd been working on. In the brief moments she'd left it to speak with Mar, someone had scrawled a barely legible message there, the words tiny and uneven, and beneath them, a heart with the letters 'J' and 'S' in it.
''Cause Jak is never gonna own up on his own.' The message read. Seem recalled that Orange Lightening had disappeared for a moment or two while she had been speaking with Mar, and so she slowly relaxed, and put the whole thing down as a joke.
After all, it couldn't possibly be serious.
